WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ The Boston Celtics signed guard Michael Jordan and forward Rodney Elliott to free agent contracts Monday.

Jordan, last season's Ivy League player of the year at Penn, bears little resemblance to the former Chicago Bulls star. But he averaged 14.7 points in four seasons at Penn, where he is the leading scorer with 1,604 career points.

Elliott played in Europe and for Baltimore of the IBL in the two seasons since leaving Maryland.

Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

The team also announced that assistant coach Andy Enfield resigned to pursue a career with a venture capital partnership in New York. Enfield served as Boston's shooting coach the past two seasons. He held the same position with Milwaukee from 1994-96.
