Vermonters take part in 49th Green Up Day
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Thousands of Vermonters are taking part in an annual spring tradition: Green Up Day.
Volunteers are out picking up litter along roadsides across the state on Saturday.
This year is Vermont’s 49th Green Up Day. The event happens on the first Saturday in May in towns around Vermont.
Republican Gov. Phil Scott said the annual effort shows residents’ commitment to keeping the state and natural resources clean and litter-free. He encourages all Vermonters to get involved, saying it makes a real difference and “is an important part of who we are.”
