LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nafeesah Brown scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as No. 22 Nebraska overpowered San Diego 81-58 Wednesday night in the first round of the NCAA women’s tournament.
Brown scored 16 as Nebraska (23-7) raced to a 46-21 halftime lead.
Chris Enger, the nation’s leading shot-blocker, led San Diego (16-12) with 15 points and four blocks.
Nebraska center Karen Jennings, the Big Eight’s player of the year, had 14 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes. Meggan Yedsena had seven assists for the Lady Huskers, who outrebounded San Diego 51-32.
Nebraska will play Southern Cal in Los Angeles on Sunday.
