BEIJING (AP) _ A court handed down the death sentence Monday to a video game parlor owner who killed three children aged 10 and 11 over a 30-cent debt.

Jin Xiangwu's swift trial and sentencing came a month after the Feb. 27 killings of the three primary school students in central China _ a case which attracted widespread coverage in China's state-run media.

Duan Keke, 10, Xue Yashan and Du Ruofei, both 11, spent more than two hours playing in Jin's video arcade and then slipped out without paying the 30 cents, the official Xinhua News Agency said. Jin lured the children back with offers of free games, only to kill them, Xinhua said.

Jin and his brother dumped the bodies in a gully and burned them, state-run television said.

Jin was tried Monday by the Intermediate People's Court in Luoyang, a city in central China's Henan province where the killings occurred, Xinhua reported. His brother, Jin Xiangyu, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, it said.
