GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) _ Home runs by Justin Boles and Scott Morrison paced Galveston (Texas) Community College to a 7-2 victory over Meridian (Miss.) Thursday night in the National Junior College World Series.

Galveston, the only undefeated team left in the double-elimination tournament, meets Triton (Ill.) Community College Friday night in the championship game.

If Triton, with one loss in the tournament, wins Friday’s game, the two teams meet again Saturday to determine the champion.

Earlier Thursday, Triton defeated Butler County (Kan.) 11-1.

In the Galveston-Meridian game, Bowles hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Morrison drilled his solo shot in the fourth. Jose Rosado pitched a complete game for the victory.

Earlier, Gene Jenkins went 2-for-2, drove in two runs and scored twice and Rashaad Stewart pitched a three-hitter to lead Triton to victory over Butler County. That game ended in the fifth on the 10-run rule.

Stewart posted the win as he scattered three hits, struck out four and walked two through five innings of work. Brian Bessie took the loss for the Grizzlies.

In the second inning, Jason Ramminger hit a two-run double that gave Triton a 3-0 lead. Triton stretched its lead in the third, scoring three unearned runs with two outs following an error by the Grizzlies’ third baseman.

Jamie Ramminger hit a two-run double in the fourth to give the Trojans an 8-0 advantage.

Through four innings, Stewart allowed only one batter to reach base. In the fifth, Gary Burson’s RBI-single broke up the shutout. The game ended in the bottom half of the inning on Derek Mitchell’s two-run double.
