Lack of Colorado snow hampers blizzard-bound Tarantino movie
DURANGO, Colorado (AP) — Warm weather and low snowfall in Telluride, Colorado, have been hampering the filming of Quentin Tarantino’s snow-centric movie in the ski town.
The Durango Herald (http://bit.ly/1CUqLIV ) reports that Telluride has only had 7 inches (18 centimeters) of snow in the last 30 days, forcing the director to shoot indoor scenes of “The Hateful Eight,” which is set during a post-Civil War blizzard.
The Oscar-winning Tarantino could get a break this weekend. The mountains of southwestern Colorado will probably miss out on a storm headed to Denver but they could get between up to 2 feet (nearly a meter) of snow starting Sunday.
The film starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh is being shot at a ranch. It’s expected to be released in the fall.
