3 people arrested on shoplifting charges
BARBOURSVILLE — The following information was provided by police reports filed at Barboursville Police Department:
GRAND LARCENY: Three people were arrested Jan. 11 at the Huntington Mall for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Macy’s.
Alek Rainey 20, Michael Sulton, 24, and Javonte Pool, 21, were arrested.
According to the complaint, officers made contact with Rainey and Sulton at a vehicle in the parking lot, who were allegedly observed concealing approximately $643 in merchandise. Officers made contact with Pool inside the store, at which point a foot chase allegedly occurred, which resulted in Pool being taken into custody without incident at another store.
Pool allegedly concealed approximately $1,200 worth of merchandise.
The three individuals were also identified in a shoplifting incident that occurred Jan. 8 at Foot Locker. Pool had an active warrant out of Wayne County for possession of a controlled substance, which was executed upon his arrest. He was charged with grand larceny, shoplifting second offense and fleeing on foot.
Rainey and Sulton were charged with shoplifting first offense over $500. Sulton was released on bond, and Pool and Rainey were taken to Western Regional Jail.
