Mother and daughter jailed in Havasu

April 6, 2019

Punches were thrown during a recent incident that left a mother and her daughter in the Lake Havasu City Jail.

According to information from the city police, 50-year-old Julia Ann Kinstler and 25-year-old Breyna Ann Marie Kinstler were each charged with two misdemeanors, assault and disorderly conduct, after an April 1 incident at a Porpoise Drive residence.

In the police report, Julia Kinstler said she was at the home with her adult daughter to care for her mother. They are from California.

The mother said Breyna had been drinking and overheard her yelling at the matriarch. Julia said she grabbed Breyna near her throat and told her not to disrespect her grandmother. Breyna responded by hitting Julia. The grandmother separated the mother and daughter and apparently called the police.

When an officer spoke to Breyna, she said her mother and grandmother had assaulted her. The officer spoke to the grandmother who said the two had surprised her with their arrival a week ago.

She said she only meant to separate the two and didn’t intend to hit anyone.
