Todd Schmidt, 50, California

Robert Todd Schmidt, 50, Chico, California, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, with his wife, Kim, at his side.

Todd was born in Perkin, Illinois, to Robert E. and Delores E. (Laskos) Schmidt on June 20, 1968. Due to his father being an engineer for Caterpillar, Inc., the family had the experience of moving to different locations and meeting different people from New York on the east side of the United States to California on the west. He obtained a college degree in sales and marketing from Cal State University, in Chico, California. That is where he met the love of his life, Kim, with whom he shared 20 years of adventure.

Todd was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the Eagle Scout award. An American flag, which had flown over the White House in Washington, D.C., was presented to him for this accomplishment.

Todd was a very friendly, talented person who, according to his father, got these artistic skills from his mother. He could sing, dance, was a wonderful piano player and appeared in many musical productions.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Schmidt of Chico, California; his mother, Dee Schmidt of Niagara Falls, New York; his father and stepmother, Bob and Bobbi Schmidt of Beaver Dam.

A private graveside funeral will be held in the future.
