BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) _ Forward Chris Gratton missed a second day of practice Wednesday with a broken left foot and is listed as questionable for Buffalo's season opener.

Gratton was injured in a game against Toronto on Sept. 27, but continued to skate before sitting out Tuesday.

``We kept Gratton off the ice to see if he can try to skate tomorrow,'' Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said. ``We'll make our decision come game time.''

The Sabres open their season against the New York Islanders on Thursday.

Gratton was the Sabres' second-leading scorer in the preseason, finishing with two goals and seven points in five games.
