Felon charged in Stamford street robbery
STAMFORD — Police say a city man who committed a West Side street mugging didn’t get very far Wednesday night.
Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said officers were called to Omar Restaurant on West Main Street at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday for the report of a man bleeding from the face and head.
Shawinsky said the victim told officers he was robbed of $100 on Rose Park Avenue by three men, including one who was standing nearby.
Shawinsky said officers detained Gabrian Holloway, 47, who had blood on his sneakers and was in possession of the same denominations of cash that the victim described being taken.
Shawinsky said Holloway was also in possession of a Mason jar of marijuana packaged for street sales, and six bags of crack cocaine.
Holloway, who is on special parole, was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 court appearance bond.
