England’s Dan Cole out of 6 Nations with injury
LONDON (AP) — England prop Dan Cole will miss the remainder of the Six Nations campaign with a neck injury.
The 26-year-old Cole has a bulging disc in his neck which is trapping a nerve and the Leicester tighthead needs a period of rest.
England head coach Stuart Lancaster says “it’s massively disappointing for Dan, Leicester and England but the important thing is that this has been diagnosed and that Dan gets the appropriate rest and treatment.”
Cole’s injury will be further assessed on Tuesday.
Sale Sharks’ Henry Thomas and Bath’s David Wilson are contenders to replace Cole.
England narrowly lost in France in its Six Nations opener, before crushing Scotland 20-0.
