Bates Duo Complete Science Internships

LEWISTON, Maine -- Two students at Bates College from Groton completed courses in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities in addition to a 200-hour internship and the community-engaged capstone course in which groups of students pair with a community organization to bring scientific and other types of expertise to a specific project that addresses a community-identified need.

Gordon Platt, a 2015 graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School, presented the results of a capstone project titled “Healthy Homeworks’ Property Health Report.”

Willy Anderson, a 2015 graduate of Groton School presented a capstone project that evaluated land-use changes and zoning alternatives in Auburn’s Agricultural and Resource Protection District.
