Teenager struck by vehicle in Mt. Pleasant Township
A teenage girl hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon along Low Street in Mt. Pleasant Township was flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, state police said.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was hit at about 4:03 p.m. as she crossed Low Street and headed toward her home at Royal Estates Mobile Home Park, police said.
The girl is 13 years old, said Mt. Pleasant Fire Chief Jerry Lucia.
The driver of the car, whom police did not identify, was interviewed by police.
Hecla Fire Chief Steve Howell did not speculate on the extent of the girl’s injuries but units set up a landing zone in nearby Frick Park in Mt. Pleasant.
“We wanted to get her medical attention ASAP,” Howell said.
