NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Tennessee Oilers center Mark Stepnoski had successful arthroscopic knee surgery Monday and is expected to be at full speed by the start of training camp on July 24.
``His knee was similar to Eddie’s (George) situation,″ general manager Floyd Reese said, referring to the Oilers’ running back who had a similar procedure earlier this month and is also expected to be ready for training camp. ``He experienced swelling on Wednesday after practice and we decided to be aggressive and clean it up. They found no structural damage.″
Stepnoski is a nine-year veteran and five-time Pro Bowl selection. He and Bruce Matthews anchor the offensive line, especially with the loss of guard Kevin Donnalley to free agency.
