Kansas St. 85, Morgan St. 66

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Gerald Eaker scored 22 points, 19 of them in the second half, and blocked four shots to lead Kansas State to an 85-66 victory over Morgan State on Saturday.

The Wildcats (3-0) struggled with Morgan State (0-2) early, trading leads four times in the first half before ending up on top 37-32 at the break.

Kansas State held the lead all through the second half, and Eaker helped the Wildcats take firm command of the game by scoring five points in a 7-0 run with 10:43 left that put the Wildcats ahead 59-49.

Mark Young also came on strong in the second half, turning in 13 of his 21 points in that period for the Wildcats.

Eaker and Young both enjoyed sharp shooting, with Eaker going 10-of-11 from the field and Young hitting 9-of-11.

Aaron Swartzendruber added 19 points for the Wildcats, and Shawn Rhodes had 10 points. Swartzendruber, a 6-2 point guard, also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Chris Watson led Morgan State with 21 points, including 3-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Two of those 3-point baskets fueled an 8-0 run in the opening minutes of the game.

Tremain Byrd added 16 points for Morgan State.
