Volunteers, donors help Vermont town celebrate new library

July 20, 2019

SOUTH HERO, Vt. (AP) — People in Vermont’s Lake Champlain island community of South Hero are celebrating the town’s new library.

MyNBC5 reports South Hero’s new Worthen Library will be holding a grand opening on Saturday.

Dozens of families and individuals helped pack up shelves of books, driving them a few minutes down the road from the old library in the community school to their new home in the $1.5 million library.

Library director Keagan Calkins says the library was built with the help of 400 contributions from individual donors.
