Pair in critical condition, suspect caught

Two men are in critical condition and another was arrested following an early morning shooting near a Fort Wayne bar, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired near the Rock Tavern, 1916 Broadway, about 1:30 a.m. today.

Police said they found one victim at a gas station parking lot across the street from the bar. The other victim was in an alley near the bar. Both appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police later identified the victims as Christopher M. Pogue, 44, and Jacob R. Jeffrey, 35. 

The men initially were taken to a local hospital in serious condition, but were downgraded to critical.

Officers arrested Aaron Suggs, 29, as a suspect in the incident. He is charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery.

The investigation is ongoing.
