Brown Nixes Old Forge School Board Run
OLD FORGE — Devon Brown withdrew as an Old Forge School Board candidate today, the day before a court hearing on a challenge to his nominating petitions.
Old Forge teachers union president Shawn Nee, whose wife, Vanessa, is also a candidate, challenged the validity of Brown’s petitions. Nee contended Brown failed to file a financial interest statement with the school district, a required part of the process to get on the May 21 primary election ballot.
Brown’s withdrawal as a Democratic and Republican candidate leaves Old Forge with 10 candidates for the Republican five school board seats.
