Defense Secretary To Visit Japan, Korea
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Defense Secretary Les Aspin will travel to Japan and South Korea next week for talks on military and security issues.
In Tokyo on Tuesday, Aspin is to meet with Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa, Foreign Minister Tsutomu Hata and the Japanese defense chief, Keisuke Nakanishi, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
He then travels to Seoul to attend the 25th annual U.S.-Korean Security Consultative Meeting. U.S. and Korean senior military leaders also will meet next Wednesday.
Aspin returns to Washington on Friday.
