Candidates Too Late For Primaries
STOCKTON, N.J. (AP) _ Primary election activity was negligible Tuesday in this pre-Revolutionary War hamlet of 640 residents on the Delaware River.
Two borough council incumbents, whose terms on the six-member body expire this year, said they really wanted to regain their seats. But neither man remembered to get his petition to the borough clerk on time.
Anthony Suozzo III, 38, said he ″blew it. I don’t know if I’m going to get written in, but I want to continue to serve the town.″
Councilman Joseph Skillodge, after 12 years on the council, says he ″just plain forgot.″
Both men said they intend to seek re-election in November through write-in votes.
