PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Baltimore Orioles first baseman Jeff Conine was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of a strained right hamstring.

Third baseman Jose Leon was called up from Triple-A Rochester to take Conine’s place on the roster. Conine is hitting .262 with 10 homers and a team-high 45 RBIs.

Leon hit .300 with eight homers and 35 RBIs at Rochester. To make room for Leon on the 40-man roster, David Segui was moved to the 60-day disabled list. Segui had hand surgery in May 21.

Conine was injured while running out a two-run triple in the eighth inning of Friday night’s 7-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
