CLEAR Announces Expansion to 25th Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul 11, 2018--CLEAR, the company building a connected world that’s smarter and more secure through its biometric identity platform, announced it is launching at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). PHX is the 25th airport in CLEAR’s growing nationwide network.
CLEAR is available today at PHX Terminal 4 and will soon be available at all terminals. Launching in the midst of a record summer travel season, bringing CLEAR to PHX means travelers can now count on a fast, predictable security experience every time they fly. CLEAR members move through a dedicated lane at airport security where they instantly validate their identities with just the tap of a finger or blink of the eye before moving on to the bag checks and metal detectors. Airlines for America - the industry trade organization for U.S. airlines - announced it expects a record 246 million airline travelers between June and August this year.
“It’s an honor to partner with Phoenix Sky Harbor as the city’s leadership clearly understands the value of improving the airport experience for their flyers,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker. “We are thrilled to be able to help travelers get to where they need to be in a more consistent, fast and frictionless way.”
“It is a pleasure to welcome CLEAR to the Phoenix community,” said Glenn Hamer, AZ Chamber of Commerce President/CEO. “Many of our members are obviously frequent travelers and trips from Sky Harbor are now going to be even easier and more predictable. We’re confident CLEAR will be very successful here.”
“Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is an important economic engine for the region and CLEAR is a great addition,” said Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber. “CLEAR’s decision to expand here is further validation of our position as a city that embraces innovation and supports businesses that are pioneering the industries of tomorrow.”
CLEAR uses your eyes, face and fingerprints to get you into airports, stadiums and more. The company’s patented biometric-boarding pass technology will soon allow passengers to go from curb to gate with just the tap of a finger – making baggage checks, lounge access, security checkpoints and boarding completely frictionless. Delta Air Lines recently rolled out CLEAR for biometric lounge access in all 50 Delta Sky Clubs across the U.S.
With the launch at PHX, CLEAR is available at 25 major airports – covering the vast majority of domestic flights nationwide – and at the stadiums of 13 professional sports teams. CLEAR membership is $15 per month with the option to add an additional family member for just $50 per year. Members can also bring their children under 18 with them through the CLEAR lane for free. Enrollment takes less than five minutes and members can begin using CLEAR immediately.
