Sky to Carry Disney Channel in Britain

LONDON (AP) _ News Corp.’s Sky Television unit and Walt Disney Co. said Wednesday they reached an agreement to launch the Disney Channel in Britain exclusively on Sky next fall.

Sky said the agreement marks the launch of the first subscription Disney Channel in Europe.

Sky said the channel will be offered to satellite and cable subscribers receiving Sky’s dual movie package, which includes Sky Movies and the Movie Channel.

Sky said the Disney Channel will broadcast on Sky Television initially for 16 hours a day on one of the first three Astra satellites.
