Thrashers Ensured 4 Sellout Games

September 1, 1999

ATLANTA (AP) _ The Atlanta Thrashers already know they will be playing before sellout crowds at their first four home games.

The NHL’s newest team, which has sold nearly 13,000 season tickets, put individual game tickets on sale Wednesday and quickly sold remaining seats for games against New Jersey on Oct. 2, Detroit on Oct. 7, Buffalo on Oct. 9 and Colorado on Oct. 23.

The Thrashers will play at the new 18,517-seat Philips Arena.

``The response has been tremendous and is consistent with the community’s overall support of this team,″ said Derek Schiller, vice president of sales and marketing.

The Thrashers are selling individual tickets only for the first 19 games on their home schedule. Seats for the remaining 22 home games will go on sale in early December.
