Vehicle-pedestrian crashes leave 1 dead, several hurt
GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say vehicles in different parts of Michigan struck groups of pedestrians walking along roadways, killing a teenage girl and injuring several others.
One crash happened Monday night in Oceana County’s Grant Township. State police say a farm truck struck 14-year-old Kaitlynn Scott and her 57-year-old father Eric Scott while they were walking their dog, killing the girl and leaving her father hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Around the same time in Lapeer County’s Lapeer Township, the sheriff’s office there says two adults were walking with a 3- and 4-year-old in a double-stroller when a car hit them as they walked across a narrow bridge in the dark. All were injured. A third adult with the group wasn’t hit.
Both crashes are under investigation.
