Billie A. Biggs
Bill Biggs passed away unexpectantly on March 27th, 2019. He had been a resident of Coalinga for the past 44 years. Bill grew up in Mapleton, Utah, where he was a devoted Springville Red Devil student and cheerleader. He graduated high school in 1954, and attended the BYU in Provo Utah. Attending school in San Francisco, he became a court reporter. He paid his tuition by teaching at the Arthur Murray ballroom dance studios in San Francisco. In the evenings and on the weekends, his time was directed at his passion for his horses. He was an accomplished horseman in 3-day event, show jumping, but most definitely, dressage. He was the Utah state champion in 1974 in the show jumping event with his horse Franco. He competed in the Olympic trials for the 1980 games, but due to the US boycott of the Russian games, the team did not attend. He is preceded in death by his brother Clark Biggs, father Alfred Biggs, mother Sara Biggs and former wife Ursula Snowden. He is survived by his girlfriend and partner Denise LaMalfa, his daughters, Marlene (Jeff) McDaniel, and Lara (Fiance, Viviano) Wilson, his brother Ron (Marla) Biggs, brother Harold (Sandra), sister Cathy Howes, and his grandchildren Amber McDaniel, Torin (Amy) McDaniel, Amanda Wilson, Bridget McDaniel, Wyatt Wilson, and great-grandchildren Greyson McDaniel, and Molly McDaniel.
