Police: 2 men exposed themselves at beach, apartment

MILFORD - Two men were arrested Wednesday after allegedly exposing themselves in two separate incidents on Wednesday.

Police said the first incident happened around 3 p.m. in the area of Woodmont Beach. Police were told the incident happened near Beach Avenue and Wall Street.

When police went to the area, they found Roger Sherwood, of Moody Avenue in Fairfield, on the beach in his underwear.

According to a release from Officer Joseph Dempsey a victim and a witness told police that when she and her female friends were walking in the area “Sherwood faced them and exposed his penis to the females and then began to touch himself.

Sherwood, 55, was charged with public indecency, breach of peace, possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The second incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on the porch of an apartment on Seeman’s Lane.

Police went to the building after a report that a man was exposing his penis and touching himself on the outdoor back porch of his apartment.

The back porch was in view of other people’s apartments.

Larry Evola, 60, of Seeman’s Lane, was charged with public decency and breach of peace.

Sherwood was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

Evola was released on a promise to appear in court.

Both men have a court date on June 18.
