Early dismissal at two Greenwich schools
GREENWICH — The first day of school will be a shortened one at two schools in Greenwich.
Due to the high temperatures and lack of air conditioning at North Mianus School and International School at Dundee, both schools will release students early on Thursday, the district announced.
The dismissal will follow the standard early release schedule, dismissing students at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, which was the first day of school in Greenwich.
All other Greenwich Public Schools will follow the standard school day schedule.
Other schools in Connecticut will have early dismissal on Thursday, as temperatures soar to near 90 degrees, including 11 schools in Norwalk without air conditioning — Nathan Hale, Ponus, Roton, West Rocks, Cranbury, Naramake, Kendall, Rowayton, Silvermine, Tracey and Wolfpit — as well as all public schools in Stamford along with J.M. Wright Tech and Stamford Academy.
