Family proms and dances held by GHPRD

HUNTINGTON - The Greater Huntington Park Recreation District will once again play host to two family fun events - the Father Daughter Valentine Dance and the Mom and Son Prom.

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District invites all dads and their daughters to a evening of dancing the night away. The Father Daughter Valentine Dance will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Pullman Plaza Hotel from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2.

Following the Father Daughter Valentine Dance, moms and their sons can get dressed in their best and pin on the boutonnieres as the GHPRD hosts the the Mom and Son Prom. This event also is scheduled to be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Pullman Plaza Hotel from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 9.

Guests at both events will have the chance to enjoy an evening filled with dancing to music by DJ Chad Midkiff of “DCM Pro Events.” Sweet treats include fruit, cookies, cupcakes and the ever-flowing favorite chocolate fountain.

A “Picture Perfect Photo Booth” is planned to to help guests commemorate the special evening with personalized event photos.

At the end of the evening, each female guest will receive a rose from the GHPRD Executive Director Kevin Brady.

Tickets for both events are $25 per couple and can be purchased at www.ghprd.org.

Skeffington’s Formal Wear on 6th Avenue in downtown Huntington is offering full tuxedo rental, including shoes, for only $59.95 for both events, according to GHPRD.
