December 17, 2018

STANTON - The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Minnesota woman in the largest drug bust in County history.

According to Sheriff Mike Unger, on Saturday evening at about 7:00 the Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Nicole Kroells of Norwood Young America on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Highway 15 about nine miles south of Pilger for speeding.

She was found to be in possession of approximately five pounds of suspected methamphetamine that was recovered hidden inside the interior of the vehicle covered with food product to disguise the odor.

Kroells was en route to Minneapolis from Phoenix and is a previously convicted felon with drug convictions.

Kroells faces felony charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver and failure to have a Nebraska Drug Tax Stamp.

Unger said the street value of the seized drugs is estimated at more than $100,000.

Kroells is currently incarcerated pending her first court appearance.
