Pilot Killed in Crash of Private, Twin-Engine Plane
TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ A private twin-engine airplane crashed into a residential area in this Baltimore suburb Friday, killing the pilot and setting two houses on fire, authorities said.
Although the wreck caused extensive damage to the two houses and minor damage to a third, the fires were quickly put out and there were no reports of anyone injured on the ground, said state police spokesman Chuck Jackson.
The house fires were quickly extinguished. The pilot’s identity was not known, and the plane was heavily burned and was in several pieces, Jackson said.
The plane was bound for Philadelphia when the accident occurred about 4:30 p.m., authorities said.
