VALLEY SANTA: Mother Needs Help With Gifts For Her 2 Daughters
Jennifer, a mother of two, is looking for a job but she said it’s difficult for her to work because she doesn’t have any family to watch her children and she can’t afford the cost of child care.
She has two daughters — Hailey, 3, and Hannah, 1.
Hailey’s father died two years ago and Hannah’s father Mike took over as a father figure.
Mike works but it’s not consistent because he works as a construction flagger.
Jennifer wrote a letter to Valley Santa asking for help in purchasing Christmas gifts for her two children.
“We have enough money to pay the bills and rent but don’t have extra money for Christmas presents,” Jennifer wrote. “They aren’t picky kids so anything you can help us with is greatly appreciated.”
Valley Santa, a program now in its 35th year, relies on donations to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need throughout Luzerne County like Hailey and Hannah. Each year, the program provides gifts to about 4,000 children.
“I want to thank you for all the families you help every year,” Jennifer wrote.
