Girls Hockey | Century, Johnson on a big roll, beat Windom
WINDOM — Tori Johnson and the Rochester Century girls hockey team are on a tear.
Johnson had another big game, with four goals and two assists, as the Panthers beat Windom 7-2 on Saturday.
Century improves to 9-6-1 overall this season and it is 7-1-1 in its past nine games.
Johnson has been as hot as her team. The senior forward has 20 points in the past five games (including 11 goals) and she leads the team with 46 points.
She is currently the second-leading scorer in the Big Nine Conference and is fifth in the entire state.
“Tori Johnson is a transformed player this season. Her ability to see the ice and make plays has been a big factor in our success and it has helped everyone to elevate their play and play with more confidence.”
Kylie Lund also had another strong game for Century, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Elizabeth Oyen also scored for the Panthers, who got 17 saves from goalie Abigail Conners.
“The girls have been bringing their best to every game and have been very consistent the last 10 games,” coach Tom Aney said. “It is great to see them come out so focused for every game.
