Woman killed at workplace, suspect arrested after shootout
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a woman was shot to death at her workplace in south Everett, setting off a search that ended in a police shootout and arrest of her estranged husband.
The Daily Herald reports officers were sent to the business at 8 a.m. Friday where a female employee was shot. Arriving officers performed CPR but she was pronounced dead by medics.
Everett police say the suspect fled the shooting in a Corvette and that police attempted to stop him when they spotted the car several hours later in the city.
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team says the suspect fired shots at the officers and that officers returned fire, hitting the suspect with a less-than-lethal round.
Police say the 59-year-old suspect of Arlington was taken to a hospital and arrested.
The shooting is under investigation.
