Youth Sentenced for Killing Woman With Boy Scout Knife

March 7, 1992

OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) _ A 16-year-old boy was sentenced to life in prison Friday for killing a woman with his Boy Scout knife.

Todd Davilla had been convicted as an adult after pleading guilty to killing 22-year-old Lisa Flormoe of Eugene.

At the hour-long sentencing hearing Friday, Clackamas County Circuit Judge Robert Morgan said he found no evidence of the ″milk of human kindness″ in Davilla. He said Davilla enjoyed himself at the county fair hours after the killing.

Flormoe was visiting family friends in suburban Portland when Davilla forced his way into the house and slit her throat after trying to rape her, police said.

She was talking on the telephone with her fiance, Brian Eaker, when Davilla came to the door. Eaker called 911 after hearing Flormoe beg for her life.

Prosecutor Terry Gustafson, who argued for a 100-year sentence, said she was satisfied with the sentence. The victim’s mother and sister vowed to follow the case to make sure Davilla is never paroled.

Davilla’s parents left the courtroom in tears.
