Albuquerque student arrested, allegedly had gun at school
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say an Albuquerque high school student has been arrested and accused of carrying a loaded revolver and ammunition on school grounds.
A Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman says the 15-year-old boy who attends Atrisco Heritage Academy High School was arrested Wednesday and is accused of unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school premises and possession of a controlled substance.
The student’s identity wasn’t released.
Deputy Felicia Maggard says that arrest resulted from an anonymous tip to school officials and no direct threats were made to the school or any students.
Maggard says additional information is not available.
