DENVER (AP) — Searchers have found a second body in the charred rubble of a building that caught fire near downtown Denver.

Fire department Capt. Greg Pixley says the body was found Thursday afternoon, a day after the blaze sent a plume of black smoke about 200 feet (61 meters) over the city. The building was under construction at the time, and Pixley says he has no reason to believe the builders were not following proper permitting procedures.

Firefighters found the first body Wednesday afternoon. The names of the victims have not been released.

The fire spread quickly in the building with so much exposed wood, and people were reportedly jumping out of the third floor where the fire may have started.

Six people were injured in the blaze.
