GW outscores Spring Valley 56-45

SPRING VALLEY — George Washington outscored Spring Valley 17-9 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and defeat the Timberwolves 56-45 Thursday night in boys high school basketball. Bunky Brown paced the Patriots with 19 points. William Gabbert scored 15.

C.J. Meredith led Spring Valley with 14 points.

Issac Massie led Calvary baptist with 21 points. Robert Clutter scored 17, Scottie Parsons 11 and Luke Pauley 10. Hunter Bush paced Point Pleasant with 18 points. Aiden Sang scored 15 and Braxton Yates 12.

IRONTON 52, FAIRLAND 47: The Fighting Tigers outscored the Dragons 18-9 in the third quarter and held on to win at the Conley Center.

Johnny Zuidema led Carter Christian with 28 points. Luke Greenhill and Kaden Williams scored 11 each.

IRONTON ST. JOE 49, GREEN 29: Faith Mahlmeister scored 14, Emma Whaley 12 and Bella Whaley 11 as the Flyers (7-7) beat the Bobcats in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Bella Whaley grabbed 10 rebounds. Kami Sweeney paced Green (5-7) with 14 points.

NITRO 58, HURRICANE 40: Baylee Goins scored 24 and Brooklyn Bowen 12 as the home-standing Wildcats (9-5) defeated the Redskins (3-8). Nadia Legros scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds for Hurricane. Callen Bostic scored 15.

WAYNE 62, SCOTT 45: The Pioneers jumped to a 13-point lead after the first quarter en route to the road victory. Alannah Eves scored 13 for Wayne and Sara Hooks 11. Shea Miller scored 18 for Scott.
