Syracuse 96, Canadian Nationals 75

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ Dave Johnson scored 22 points and led a barrage of 3-pointers as Syracuse beat the Canadian national team 96-75 in exhibition play Tuesday night.

The Orangemen made 12 of 24 3-point shots, with Johnson making four of nine.

Mike Hopkins scored 12 points, Lawrence Moten 11 and Anthony Harris 10 for Syracuse.

Dwight Walden let the Canadians with 14 points, Joey Vickery had 13, Dale Dorgousoff made 11 and Al Kristmanson 10.

The Canadians hit 21 of 52 shots and were outrebounded 41-34.

Syracuse took a 16-15 lead on Hopkins’ 5-foot jumper with 10:30 left in the first half, and the Canadians didn’t lead again. Syracuse scored the last nine points of the half to lead 44-35.

The Orangemen built the margin to 64-44 eight minutes into the second half.
