ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Jamal Mayers and Craig Conroy scored 30 seconds apart in the third period to give the St. Louis Blues a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.

Mayers’ second goal of the season tied the game 2-2 at 3:37 of the third period. Just 30 seconds later, Conroy, who assisted on Mayers’ goal, took a pass from Mayers and beat Dallas goalie Ed Belfour to give St. Louis its first lead of the game.

Scott Young also scored in the third period for St. Louis to extend his scoring streak to four games. Terry Yake had three assists for the Blues, who have won eight of their last nine at Kiel Center.

St. Louis goalie Roman Turek made 19 saves for his ninth win in 13 games.

Joe Nieuwendyk scored his eighth goal of the season at 5:07 to give Dallas a 1-0 lead. The Blues turned the puck over in their own end and Nieuwendyk beat Turek with a wrist shot.

Just over five minutes later Dallas increased its lead to 2-0.

Brenden Morrow scored his third goal of the season when he jammed in a rebound at 10:12.

St. Louis got a goal at the 17:19 mark of the first when Pavol Demitra scored his 14th of the season.

Pierre Turgeon had an assist to extend his scoring streak to six games. Turgeon has 18 points in his last 11 games since returning to the lineup after being out with back spasms.

St. Louis outshot Dallas 14-5 in the second period, but could not beat Belfour, who made 35 saves.

The Blues outshot Dallas 39-21 as the Stars had their road winning streak stopped at four. It marked the 10th consecutive game St. Louis has outshot its opposition.

Dallas’ Mike Modano and Brett Hull each had six-game point scoring streaks stopped.
