SYDNEY, Australia (AP) _ The Australian men’s water polo team doesn’t have it down like the Aussie women yet.

After rallying from a three-goal deficit to lead 11-10 in the final minutes, Kazakstan’s Alexandr Elke scored with 12.8 seconds to go for a tie at the Sydney Games on Sunday.

The Australian women’s team won three of its final four games, including the gold-medal match with the United States, with a dramatic goal late in the fourth quarter.

Chernov’s goal left Kazakstan and Australia tied in the Group A standings at 0-1-1. The top four from each pool contend for the medal round.

Daniel Marsden had four goals for Australia, including the one with 1:32 to go that looked like it would bring victory. ut Chernov scored his only goal from the right side of the net, sneaking it past goalie Eddie Denis.

Sergey Drozdov and Igor Zagoruinko had three goals each for Kazakstan. Elke and Vevgeniy Zhilyayev score two apiece.

Kazakstan takes on Russia in its next game. Australia faces Slovakia.
