Wild Reassigns Murphy to Houston
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) _ The Minnesota Wild placed center Rickard Wallin on injured reserve Thursday and reassigned defenseman Curtis Murphy to Houston of the AHL.
Wallin broke his left hand during the first period of the Wild’s 4-3 overtime win over Edmonton on Tuesday night. He’s expected to be out four-to-six weeks.
The 27-year-old Murphy made his NHL debut Dec. 15 against Carolina. Before being recalled, Murphy led AHL defensemen with 11 goals and was tied for fourth in scoring with 20 points.
