September 18, 2018

STAMFORD — Police say they caught a Stamford man breaking into cars in an area of the city experiencing a rash of vehicular break-ins.

Police said Dudley Milbin, 30, of West Main Street was found in the driveway of a Seaside Avenue home after a person on Webb Avenue called police around 3:25 a.m. to report a man attempting to enter cars on the street. Police arrived and searched the area where they found Milbin, who matched the suspect description from the caller.

Milbin allegedly tried to run when he spotted police and was caught after a chase. Police brought him back to the station, where he was identified by the complainant as the suspect from the initial call.

Milbin was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal trespassing, two counts of third-degree criminal attempt at burglary and interfering with an officer and resisting arrest. Police said he was held on a $25,000 bond and will be questioned about other recent car break-ins in the area.
