Burst pipe causes issues at middle school, parents complain

February 8, 2018

LODI, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey middle school has to disrupt class schedules for the second time this year due to a burst pipe.

Students at Lodi Middle School will be dismissed early for the rest of the week to allow repairs for a burst pipe in the cafeteria kitchen. The Record reports parents said Wednesday burst pipes have been an issue at the school since students returned from winter break, causing heat loss in the building on one occasion.

School Superintendent Frank Quatrone says the district addressed Wednesday’s problem quickly and teachers are continuing instruction without interruption. He says there was a burst pipe in January that caused heat loss in three classrooms.
