Duo Transcend added to Las Vegas show

September 24, 2018

HUNTINGTON — Duo Transcend, the first aerial group to make the “America’s Got Talent” finals, will join the NBC talent show’s live run Nov. 2-4 at the Paris Theater at the Paris Las Vegas hotel.

That show will star “AGT” winner Shin Lim, as well as the other top 5 contestants: the dance group Zurcaroh, comedian Samuel J. Comroe, violinist Brian King Joseph and singer Michael Ketterer.

Duo Transcend’s bid to become the “America’s Got Talent” winner ended Wednesday night during a drama-filled finale. The duo, which has been performing professionally for seven years, was competing against a range of acts, from comedians and musicians to magicians, dancers and singers.

Duo Transcend is Salt Lake City, Utah-based couple Tyce Nielsen and his wife, Mary Ellen Wolfe-Nielsen, who is the daughter of former Huntington Mayor and former Cabell County Sheriff Kim Wolfe and his wife, regional actress Debbie Wolfe. Mary Ellen was trying to become the second West Virginia native to win “America’s Got Talent.”

Logan County native and resident Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., who is still touring the country as a throwback R&B and jazz-based classic crooner, won the show in 2011.

In an Instagram video message backstage to their fans, Tyce and Mary Ellen thanked everyone for what had been an unforgettable journey.

“This has been the craziest journey for us, and we just want you all to know that we are so thankful for America and all of our fans who supported us,” Tyce said with Mary Ellen by his side. “We are in such a good place in our hearts and minds, and we developed relationships with all nine of those acts (performing in the finals). We will be so happy to see whoever wins that show. They all deserve it.”

Following “America’s Got Talent,” the couple was headed to Reno, Nevada, where they were beginning a six-week run of shows.

Tickets for the show in Las Vegas range from $55 to $185 and went on sale Friday at agtvegas.com, or call the box office at 702-777-2782 or 855-234-7469.
