November 13, 2018

ROARING BROOK TWP.

An 18-year-old Jefferson Twp. woman went to the hospital Monday morning when a cement mixer struck her car in Roaring Brook Twp., state police at Dunmore said.

Kaila A. Ransom lost control driving north on an icy state Route 435 about 8:42 a.m. and struck a guardrail not far from Interstate 380.

Her 2003 Hyundai Elantra started spinning. A cement mixer, also traveling north, collided with the Hyundai’s driver side and sent it spinning into a guardrail again, state police said.

The driver of the cement mixer, Joseph Zelno, 65, of Archbald, was uninjured.

Ransom was listed in good condition at Geisinger Community Medical Center Monday night.
