LOCAL COLLEGE: Psu-scranton Women Prevail Behind Hicks

North Pocono graduate Monique Hicks had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Penn State Scranton to a 67-59 win over Penn State Wilkes-Barre in a Penn State University Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Monday.

Wallenpaupack graduate Tabitha Boyd had 11 points for Scranton (3-7 overall, 2-4 league). Western Wayne grad Jess Berger had 13 rebounds.

Giana Skaff scored 26 points for Wilkes-Barre (5-5, 2-4).

Men’s basketball SUNY-Cobleskill shot 64 percent from the floor in the first half to roll to a 95-59 nonleague win over Clarks Summit University.

The Fighting Tigers also hit 6 of 11 on 3-pointers in the first half to build a 46-23 halftime lead.

Reed Plantz had 19 points for Clarks Summit (0-13).
