Robert J. ‘Bob’ Korth, 90, of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Nye Legacy in Fremont.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Monsignor Robert Nienaber, the Rev. Walter Nolte, the Rev. David Korth and the Rev. Bryan Ernest will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, and family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. with a KC Living Rosary at 7 p.m., all at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont.

Bob was born June 15, 1928, in Lindsay, to Frank and Emma (Schaecher) Korth.

Bob married Norma Jean Nienaber on Jan. 10, 1951, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. They lived and farmed in Lindsay until 1956, when they moved to Omaha. In 1960, they came to Fremont, and Bob worked as a USDA meat inspector at Hormel and Campbell Soup until 1987. Bob then became self employed. He did home improvements and installed permanent siding until retiring in 1995. Later, he drove for Sid Dillon in Fremont.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Honorary Life Member of KC Council 1497, both in Fremont.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Fremont; sons, James A. (Kristin) Korth of Bozeman, Montana, Joe G. (Pam) Korth of Greely, Colorado, Bernard R. (Tina) Korth of Fremont, Donald L. (Patti) Korth of Omaha, Tony R. (Deanna) Korth of Gretna, Dr. Ken (Dr. Debra) Korth of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Ed (Missy) Korth of Schuyler; daughters, Kathleen Ann (Doug) Hartmann of Fremont and Joan Marie (Steve) Krause of Ogallala; brother, Vernell (Lugene) Korth of Lindsay; sisters, Florene (Ralph) Mausbach and Mary Ann Jaroz, all of Columbus, and Elaine (John) Boyce of Omaha; sister-in-law, Frances Korth of Lindsay; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Maurice and Art Korth; two grandsons, Matthew Hartmann and Tom Krause; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Leo Bruggeman; daughter-in-law, Rene Korth and brother-in-law Ray Jaroz.
