Stephen Considine, 71, Sebastopol, California

Stephen Mark Considine, 71, of Sebastopol, California, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at the home of Tom and Joy Considine, with his family by his side.

Stephen was born in Janesville, to Harvey and Joann Considine, on Aug. 18, 1947. He was part of a large extended family including eight brothers and three sisters that loved him very much.

Stephen graduated from Mukwonago Union High School in 1965. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He stayed in the Portage area for 14 years, being a herdsman and substitute teacher. His Irish tenor voice was heard in the community choir in Occidental, California, or the Considine brothers singing at family gatherings. He was known for his flower and vegetable gardens, both in Wisconsin and California.

Very well known in the national dairy goat world, he will be remembered as a director, judge, appraiser, and a trainer of judges for the American Dairy Goat Association.

He is the first in death of this generation of Considines. He is survived by siblings, H. James, Daniel, Mitchell, David, Patricia, Peggy, John Matthew, Judith, Mark, Thomas, and Nathan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Elaine Considine.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at the Tom Considine Farm, W10802 Walker Road, Portage. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at the Caledonia Presbyterian Church, presided by Mitchell Considine. A luncheon will follow a short graveside service. Memorials may be given to the Harvey Considine Memorial Fund.
